Frequently Asked Questions

How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy typically focuses on processing past experiences and healing emotional wounds. Coaching is present and future focused. We work with where you are now, what is getting in the way, and where you want to get to. That said, my approach is psychology-led and draws on therapeutic understanding of patterns, beliefs and behaviour. So while this is not therapy, it goes deeper than most coaching. If during our work together it becomes clear that therapeutic support would serve you better, I will always say so.

Do I need to have a clear goal before I start?

Not at all. Many of my clients arrive knowing something needs to change but without any clear sense of what that looks like. Finding that clarity is often the first part of the work. You do not need to have the answers before you begin. You just need to be ready to start looking for them.

How long does the process take?

My six session package typically runs over three months, with sessions held fortnightly. This pacing is intentional. The space between sessions gives you time to reflect, notice patterns in real life, and come back with new material. Change that lasts rarely happens overnight and the structure is designed to support something more sustainable than a quick fix.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place online or in person at my private practice. This is a dedicated, comfortable space designed to feel calm and confidential. I find that meeting in person creates the kind of depth and focus that is harder to achieve online, and it is something my clients consistently value about the experience.

What if I have never had coaching before?

Most of my clients come to me with no previous experience of coaching. The introductory call is specifically designed for this — it is a relaxed, informal conversation where you can ask anything, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether it feels right without any pressure to commit. Many people find that just having that first conversation shifts something.

Can I just book one session to see how it feels?

Yes. Single sessions are available and can be a good way to experience the work before committing to a package. That said, meaningful change tends to unfold over time rather than in a single conversation. Most clients who begin with a single session choose to continue. But there is no pressure to decide anything before you are ready.

How is your approach different from other coaches?

Many coaches work quickly and focus primarily on action and outcomes. My approach is slower and more thorough by design. Because I am trained in psychology and counselling, I work with the whole picture — not just what you want to achieve, but the patterns, beliefs and self-perceptions that have been shaping your choices. The result is not just a plan but a deeper understanding of yourself that stays with you long after our sessions end.

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions is held in complete confidence and within a clear ethical framework. The only exceptions are the standard safeguarding situations where there is a risk of serious harm, which I will always explain clearly at the start of our work together.

What payment methods are accepted?

A variety of payment methods are accepted, including bank transfers, credit/debit cards, and PayPal. Full details are provided during the booking process.

What is the cancellation policy?

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled without charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session will incur a full session fee.
